Meetings
Board Meeting
The Board of Directors meets once a month to plan events and manage the operation of the Arts Council. Additional Board meetings can be called as required.
WSAC Board meetings are not generally open to non-Board members. Anyone wishing to make a proposal or presentation to the Board should contact the council office or phone (478-2286) at least one week prior to the meeting date. The item will be added to the agenda if at all possible. Time for presentations will be allotted in the first half hour of the meeting.
Membership Meetings
Voting
Only WSAC members in good standing may vote at meetings. Member voting eligibility is determined as follows:
- WSAC members in good standing are those who have paid their dues for the current year.
- Only one representative of a member group in good standing may vote on behalf of that member group.
- We suggest that all individuals belonging to member groups also join as WSAC individual members to maximize their benefits of membership and to enable them to have their own votes at meetings.
- WSAC memberships expire at the end of October in the year they are purchased. (Obtain your Membership Application Form here)
The Annual General Meeting
Our Bylaws require us to have an Annual General Meeting (AGM).
- The AGM is usually held in January.
- All individual WSAC Members as well as a representative from each WSAC Member Group should attend the Annual General Meeting.
Meeting Reports
The following reports are typically made at the AGM:
- President's Report.
- Treasurer's Report.
- Brief reports about their activities from groups and individuals who have received funding from the WSAC during the year prior to the meeting.
Special General Meetings
The by-laws have the provision for additional membership meetings, termed Special Membership Meetings.
Special Membership Meetings may be called for a variety of reasons. WSAC members will be notified in advance about the details of such meetings.
